The Forbes/SHOOK 2020 ranking of Best-In-State Wealth Advisors (Pennsylvania), developed by SHOOK Research, is based on an algorithm of qualitative and quantitative data, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews of advisors, and quantitative data. Those advisors that are considered have a minimum of seven years experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients. Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data.
As of January 2020, SHOOK received 32,000 nominations, based on thresholds and qualifications. 7,556 nominees were invited to complete SHOOK’S online survey. SHOOK conducted 11,864 telephone interviews and 2,336 in-person interviews of advisors at advisors’ locations.
myCIO does not pay a fee to Forbes or SHOOK Research to be considered for or included in the rankings. myCIO is not required to be a member of or subscriber to Forbes, SHOOK or any other group to be considered for or included in the rankings. myCIO is not affiliated with Forbes or SHOOK. SHOOK is completely independent and objective and does not receive compensation from the advisors, advisory firms, the media, or any other source in exchange for placement on a ranking. SHOOK is funded through conferences, publications and research partners. Rankings are based on the opinions of SHOOK Research, LLC and not indicative of future performance or any one client’s experience.
The Financial Times ("FT") 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers is an independent listing produced annually by Ignites Research, a division of Money-Media, Inc., on behalf of the Financial Times (July 2020). The FT 300 is subjective and is based on data gathered from Registered Investment Adviser ("RIA") firms, regulatory disclosures, and the FT’s research. The listing reflected each practice’s performance in six primary areas: assets under management, asset growth, compliance record, years in existence, industry credentials of staff, and online accessibility. To qualify for the FT 300, a firm must meet minimum criteria and submit an online application. Over 750 qualified firms applied for the award, 300 of which were selected (40%). This award does not evaluate the quality of services provided to clients and is not indicative of the practice’s future performance. Neither the RIA firms nor their employees pay a fee to The Financial Times in exchange for inclusion in the FT 300.
